Highlights
Oppo A18 is the lowest-priced Oppo A series phone in the 2023 lineup. The design is particularly intriguing as it looks similar to the mid-range A series phones. The back part has a shimmering effect under sunlight. It has a glossy finish and does not attract fingerprints that much, which is a plus point. However, you’ll get a typical V-notch on the front. It comes with all the convenient ports such as USB Type-C, dual SIM; 3.5mm headphone jack and external memory card slot.
The screen resolution is HD+ with 90Hz refresh rate. A huge positive side is that the phone features IPX4 water splash resistance and IP5X dust resistance. Its 720 nits peak brightness is sufficient under sunlight. There is also eye-care mode for reduced blue light which is particularly useful in dark ambiences or at nighttime. There is an 8+2 MP rear camera and a 5 MP selfie shooter for adequate photo shooting. Both come with up to 1080p@30fps video recording. Of course, the cameras are one of its major disadvantages. You’d expect higher megapixels and better features at this price point.
The battery capacity is 5000 mAh and a standard 10W Oppo SuperVOOC charger is included in the box. The charging capacity is another drawback, as many phones will give you an 18W charger. It offers a decent performance with a fine Helio G85 chipset from MediaTek. There is 4 GB RAM with 4 GB virtual RAM option and 128 GB internal storage. The fingerprint sensor is located on the right side power button. The gadget runs the Android 13 version.
